Movies in Spanish

Watching movies with Spanish subtitles or Spanish Language tracks are a fun way to practice. Here are a few tips:

Rent or go to a family movie that has been made originally in Spanish

If you rent a movie on a DVD, you check on the cover to see if it lists "Spanish Language Track" or "Spanish Subtitles". If so, you can go into the set up menu and select "Spanish" for the language track.

If you rent a DVD and set up the Spanish Language Track, you may also go back into the setup menu and click to see "English captions for the visually impaired." This way, you can listen in Spanish and read in English

An animated movie works particualarly well with a Spanish language track. When dubbing happens with a movie with living actors, the voice and movement of the mouth being out of sync can be a bit distracting (but can still be fun and worthwhile with live actors as well).
